ASP .NET & ADO .NET Fundamentals Using VB .NET (5 Day Course)

 Course Summary:

The goal of this course is to provide students with a solid understanding of Microsoft’s ASP .NET technology using the Visual Studio .NET programming interface and the Visual Basic .NET language.

Students will become familiar with how an ASP .NET page is created, processed and how its results are delivered to a client machine. The Visual Studio .NET Integrated Design Environment (IDE) will be covered in great detail as the ability to easily debug ASP pages is now a reality.

Another major goal for this class is for students to interact with data in several ways using the new ADO .NET paradigm. ADO .NET provides a powerful set of objects to transform traditional data to XML and back again and these aspects of ADO .NET will be covered.


 Intended Audience:

This course is intended for existing VB .NET developers who wish to interact with data resources, create dynamic web content and reusable web services via ASP .NET.


 Prerequisites:

To ensure an effective learning environment, it is imperative that students meet minimum course prerequisites.

This course requires:

  • Successful completion of “Advanced HTML” or familiarity with 90% of the topics covered therein.
  • Successful completion of “Introduction to .NET Using VB .NET ” or familiarity with 90% of the topics
    covered therein or
    - More than 6 months of practical experience using Visual Basic .NET
